Having to testify in court can seem daunting and intimidating, but it does not have to be that way. Please join DCS attorney, Heather Andress, to learn more about how to prepare for court appearances. Heather will share how counsel uses your reports in their daily work. She will share some ideas for how you can prepare to give easily understood and comprehensive testimony based on the facts when you must appear in a court proceeding.

• Understand what a judge is looking for in your testimony and how to deliver it

Presenter Bio:

Heather Andress is the Deputy Chief Counsel for Region 14 with the Indiana Department of Child Services. She is formerly a Family Case Manager from 2008-2012. She has been with Indiana DCS for 8 years in total.

Jevan Haarer is a deputy chief counsel serving in Region 10.  He obtained his license to practice law in the spring of 2014 and has been a part of the DCS team since 2016. During his time with DCS, he has litigated hundreds of cases in Child in Need of Services actions, Termination of Parental Rights actions, Administrative appeal hearings, and even a few contested adoption cases.
