Workshop Description
♦This session is appropriate for individuals in supervisory or executive leadership roles.
Youth-serving care settings have faced growing challenges in motivating direct care workers to consistently engage in positive behaviors, especially since Covid-19. Despite efforts such as higher pay, more training, and increased supervision, these issues remain the primary risk to client outcomes. In a survey of over 115 CEOs of youth care organizations, 100% identified negative or neutral staff behaviors as the top risk to youth and family outcomes. An objective AI-driven compliance and engagement monitoring system has been developed to constantly incentivize and reinforce high-quality care amongst direct caregivers, without disrupting their daily work routines. The AI system is designed to maximize desired behaviors of caregivers – utilizing the principals of operant conditioning with the influences of a variable interval reinforcement schedule.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will gain knowledge on an innovative system to ensure direct care staff are constantly responsive, engaged, active and loving.
- Participants will learn effective use of operant condition principles via an AI and dynamic pay model.
- Participants will gain knowledge necessary for their organization's readiness to use the technology.
