As caregivers providing client-centered services, professionals in many roles provide a variety of services in a variety of spaces. This Ethics session looks at a sampling of topics that are relevant to a variety of roles such as: Being Client-Centric, Documentation with some discussion of Artificial Intelligence, ethical decision making related to use of evidence-based practices e.g. Motivational Interviewing and resolving ethical dilemmas.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will explore basic values and principles.
  • Participants will discuss and explore challenges and how to address them as practice changes.
  • Participants will look at some ways to resolve ethical issues and dilemmas.

Presenter Bio: 

George Brenner has a Master Degree in Psychology from the University of Evansville and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Addictions Counselor in the State of Indiana. George has 50 years of clinical, supervisory, and administrative experience in the areas of gambling disorders, substance use disorders, mental health, and integrated care for Co-Occurring Disorders. He is a trainer and consultant in these areas as well as facilitating the learning of Motivational Interviewing. He is Co-Owner of Continuing the Care, LLC. George served on the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board for 12 years.
