Workshop Description

♦This session is appropriate for individuals in supervisory or executive leadership roles.

Human service worker turnover is at an all-time high. It doesn't have to be that way. You can keep your team - and help your team keep their sanity in this high-stress industry. This session shares research and tips to support worker retention. Based on research published in 2024, and a pilot program launched at an Indianapolis human service organization, the workshop will focus on how to create an environment that improves retention and promotes resilience.

Learning objectives:

  • Participants will develop an awareness of updated research on why workers enter, stay, and/or leave high-stress, human service roles.
  • Participants will learn how one Indianapolis human service organization improved retention by over 21% in 90 days.
  • Participants will gain tips and takeaways for organizations to improve retention in their organizations, along with employee health.
