Workshop Description
Our brains are incredibly efficient machines, but sometime that efficiency gets us in trouble. We fall into predictable cognitive biases and logical fallacies that affect how we interact with our clients, coworkers, and supervisors. These biases and fallacies are like the undercurrents in our relationships; they affect everything, but we rarely understand them. This workshop will identify some of the most common cognitive biases and logical fallacies and give us some tolls to mitigate any harm they can produce.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn how we develop cognitive biases and logical fallacies.
- Each participant will identify specific cognitive biases and logical fallacies that they most often struggle with.
- Participants will learn how to more effectively use supervision and peer consultation to challenge their cognitive biases and logical fallacies.
